Transportation for Everyone

Getting from here to there is never simple.

  • Gas prices are skyrocketing.
  • Parents are rushing around trying to get their kids to school and activities.
  • Those who don’t drive have enormous challenges just getting to the grocery store or visiting friends.
  • Seniors are worried about losing the ability to drive and having to leave their homes.

To address these concerns, citizens from Antrim, Bennington, Dublin, Francestown, Greenfield, Greenville, Hancock, Jaffrey, Mason, New Ipswich, Peterborough, Rindge, Sharon, and Temple have joined together with area agencies to develop an affordable, coordinated, inclusive community transportation system for the eastern Monadnock region.

As New Hampshire’s demographics change, communities will be faced with a less and less independently mobile population. Rising energy costs will affect not only personal finances, and thus mobility, but also communal purses, including state coffers, and therefore challenge our collective ability to maintain and expand our current transportation system.

It is vital, from an economic, social, cultural and sustainability perspective, that we have a functioning community transportation system.

Did you know that by the year 2030, 43% of NH’s population is projected to be under eighteen (21.6%) or over sixty-five (21.4%)? Most non-drivers fall into these age groups.
